Before Vision Therapy: “A year ago I had a stroke, which affected my vision. At first, I was not able to watch TV, read newspapers, magazines or books. This hit me very hard since I was an avid reader my whole life. I wasn’t able to use the computer since I saw wavy lines across the screen. The computer usage was 90% of my job as a controller. I kept bumping into objects at home and at street fairs since I had no peripheral vision.”
After Vision Therapy: “I started attending classes at The Braille Institute in La Jolla which helped me to cope with my disability. Then my doctor at Shiley Eye Center recommended Dr. Carl Hillier for eye therapy services which my wife drove me to once a week. He and his staff tried a wide variety of tests to broaden my vision. He put a prism in my eyeglasses which broadened my field of vision on one side by three feet. Which was very helpful for my peripheral vision. The staff was very encouraging at all times and I am most grateful that the neuro-ophthalmologist recommended this to me.
Sincerely,
