Amblyopia “Lazy Eye”
This is when the brain cannot appreciate the clarity that is available to an eye. This interferes with eye-teaming” or “binocularity.” One eye being more farsighted, or having astigmatism than the clearer eye is often associated. Sometimes one eye being out of alignment is also associated.
Glasses or contact lenses are almost always a part of the therapeutic plan. Vision Therapy is always also recommended. Vision Therapy requires a dedicated program of individually designed clinical visits in an optometric office.
